OMB names Chu to head to e-gov subcommittee
The undersecretary of Defense for personnel and readiness replaces Steven Law, former deputy secretary of the Labor Department.
Clay Johnson, deputy director for management at the Office of Management and Budget, today named David Chu, undersecretary of Defense for personnel and readiness, the chairman of the President’s Management Council e-government subcommittee.Chu replaces Steven Law, former deputy secretary of the Labor Department.“David has strengthened management practices and helped the Department of Defense better utilize their [information technology] resources,” Johnson said. “David’s commitment to results will make him an effective leader within the management council and help drive better performance for e-government across the federal government.”Karen Evans, administrator for e-government and IT at OMB, said Chu’s public- and private-sector experience will play a critical role in leading e-government.DOD has shown a strong commitment to meeting the e-government and IT goals of the President’s Management Agenda, according to OMB.
