Bledsoe becomes director at Avineon

Avineon announced today the appointment of Cary Bledsoe as director of the Midwest region within the company's Defense Systems division.

Bledsoe will lead efforts in support of Avineon's defense contracts and assist with business development in the Midwest area. Bledsoe has more than 21 years of government engineering experience.

Prior to joining Avineon, Bledsoe spent 10 years stationed in Indiana at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division. While there, he oversaw the engineering efforts for the Marine Corps Ground Based Air Defense Systems and also was branch supervisor for the Open Systems Engineering Branch, leading Crane's efforts on implementation of Navy open architecture standards. He also managed the Surface Navy Multi-Sensors Electro Optics Branch and complete life cycle support of these electro optics devices from research and development to fielding and sustaining the devices.

Bledsoe was president of the Southern Indiana Section of the American Society of Naval Engineers for four years. Under his leadership, it was named Section of the Year.
