Accela names new president, CEO
Maury Blackman has been appointed president and chief executive officer of Accela, a leading provider of enterprise software for government, the company announced recently.
Previously, Blackman was senior vice president of sales and marketing, a position he held since May 2004. Blackman was responsible for all aspects of sales, marketing, partner strategy and customer relations. During his tenure, company sales experiences triple-digit growth, surpassing $40 million in the past four quarters. Blackman was also elected to the Accela board of directors.
Blackman started working at Accela in 2000 as vice president of marketing and business development, playing an instrumental role in an acquisition strategy that resulted in the merger of five companies into the Accela enterprise. In 2004, Blackman led Accela to be a founding member of the Digital Communities Initiative with companies such as Intel, Cisco, Panasonic, CDW-G and Intermec.
Before joining Accela, Blackman was a sales and marketing executive at Investools, formerly Telescan, and was a field artillery officer in the Army.
