GSA seeks Web program to track projects

A new General Services Administration program would open information about the agency’s Public Building Service (PBS) to stakeholders as GSA tries to put the data into a manageable form.For GSA’s national electronic program management package, officials want a Web-based, easy-to-manage program with a single interface that will collect information on multiple PBS projects, according to a Federal Business Opportunities notice posted April 13.Specifically, GSA wants the program to be comprehensive and flexible enough to manage all types of PBS design and construction projects, including large capital construction projects and smaller jobs. It should track and report on the entire GSA design and construction program portfolio, the notice states.This effort is intended to evolve into a comprehensive servicewide management tool, addressing all aspects of project phases, the notice states.Under the request for proposals, GSA is considering a one-year, fixed-price contract with as many as seven option years, the notice states. The contract is worth about $5 million, it states.
