Young to retire from GTSI

Dendy Young will retire as chairman of the board and a director at GTSI following the company's annual shareholder meeting.

Young was appointed chairman of the board in May 1998 and has been a director since December 1995. From December 1995 to February 2006, he was chief executive officer of GTSI, a government reseller.

Young has received many honors from business leaders and the media during his career. He won Federal Computer Week's Federal 100 Award three times and the Eagle Award once. He received the CIO Council's Azimuth Award and holds a Lifetime Achievement Award from VARBusiness magazine.

He is a member of the Northern Virginia Technology Council Board and chairman of its TechPAC, a political action committee. He is on AFCEA's board of directors, a member of the Government Information Technology Executive Council Executive Advisory Committee, and an active member of the Industry Advisory Council.
