ODNI chooses new acquisition deputy

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence has chosen an industry insider as its new deputy director for acquisition.Alden Munson brings systems engineering and program management experience in the defense, space and intelligence areas to the position, which became effective April 9. He was a syndicating partner at the investment banking firm Windsor Group and senior vice president and group executive at the Litton Information Systems Group.National Intelligence Director Mike McConnell, who has held his position for about three months, said that he chose Munson to help drive the “Build Acquisition Excellence and Technology Leadership” part of the intelligence community’s 100-Day Plan for Integration and Collaboration, which the office released last month. The plan seeks to foster better connections among intelligence communities.“Al brings with him a tremendous amount of senior-level industry experience,” McConnell said. “His business experience with large acquisitions will be invaluable as we work to increase our technological agility.”
