GSA names head of performance improvement
In his new role, Kimber Boyer will advise GSA on major policies related to how well the agency works.
Former House staff member Kimber Boyer will head the General Services Administration’s Office of Performance Improvement, the agency announced June 4. That office oversees the development of GSA’s competitive sourcing program, which pits the public sector against the private sector for government contracts. The office designs action plans to review how GSA’s organizations work overall, and it also oversees whether those organizations meet their improvement goals.In his new role, Boyer will advise GSA on major policies related to how well the agency works. Boyer previously was director of strategic planning and oversight on the House Budget Committee’s Republican staff. He also has private-sector experience. “GSA’s Office of Performance Improvement now has a strong leader who will bring the right set of skills to support both GSA and the President’s Management Agenda,” GSA Administrator Lurita Doan said. Boyer has an economics degree from Youngstown University in Ohio. He is married and has four adult children.
