CSC names president of Americas Outsourcing group

Joe Doherty has been named president of Computer Sciences Corp.'s Americas Outsourcing group as the company realigns its resources as part of Project Accelerate, its comprehensive growth strategy.

Doherty, previously vice president for the aerospace and defense industry in CSC's Technology Management Group, will be responsible for executing the company's outsourcing strategy in the Americas, including growth in target market segments and the integration of account management and service delivery organizations across the region.

Prior to his position in the Technology Management Group, Doherty was vice president and senior account executive for the Raytheon outsourcing account. He joined CSC in 1998 as operations director in the U.S. Navy-Marine Corps/Air and Missile Defense business unit.

Before joining CSC, Doherty spent 20 years in the Navy, serving 11 years as an enlisted computer systems specialist and nine years as a naval communications officer.

He is chairman of CSC's Aerospace and Defense Council, and a member of the National Security Committee for the Aerospace Industries Association, the board of directors for the National Capital Navy League, AFCEA, and the National Defense Industries Association.
