FBI names new special agent for Denver office

Robert Garrity has been named special agent in charge (SAC) of the FBI's Denver Field Office.

Garrity replaces former SAC Richard Powers. Most recently, Garrity was the FBI's deputy chief information officer and business process re-engineering executive.

Garrity joined the FBI in 1976. Since then he has worked as a supervisory special agent and was selected into the FBI's Senior Executive Service at the rank of inspector in 2000. In July 2001, Garrity was appointed the FBI's interim records officer and charged with the responsibility of assessing the bureau's records management systems.
