Kaplan joins National Intelligence Council
Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell appointed Stephen Kaplan to be vice chairman and assistant deputy DNI (ADDNI) for the National Intelligence Council, effective Aug. 20.
For the past two years, Kaplan worked in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence as the ADDNI for the President's Daily Brief.
Before joining ODNI, Kaplan worked at the CIA as director of the Office of Policy Support in the Intelligence Directorate and as executive assistant to the director of central intelligence. A CIA officer for 27 years, Kaplan also ran the former Soviet Domestic and Foreign Affairs Group, the East European Division and the Tradecraft 2000 Program. He later worked on the President's Daily Brief, first at the White House and then at the State Department.
