Letter: Young people should consider private sector first
Agencies would benefit if young professionals get some experience in the private sector before entering public service, one reader writes.

Lengthy careers are a relic. Today's work experience might involve 3 or 4 careers.
It would make sense for young people to come for their stint in government after having [done] a stint in the private or non-profit sectors...preferably in both. Thus they would come to government with enough practical experience to know how to fix the little things in government that once worked but never adapted, and now no longer work.
Fewer Lifers...more in-and-outers.
