Letter: GPO’s printing facility is vulnerable
A reader says the government shouldn’t locate backup facilities in areas prone to natural disasters.
Regarding “GPO set to open second passport printing facility”: Let me get this straight: They are putting a backup facility at a site more or less at sea level that was heavily damaged in the last hurricane that came through?
I understand the political realities of putting jobs into areas undergoing economic hardship, but shouldn't survivability and mission capability be part of the decision?
Standard disclaimer: I’m speaking for myself, not my agency.
