Letter: Reader pinpoints contractors' position in management
Even when management is well-intentioned, it can't seem to get out of its own way, and becomes its own worst enemy.

Regarding FCW's Letters page, a reader writes: "Touche!", to the respondent who chimed in:
"Contractors can't solve management problems," in reference to "Kelman: Too many contractors" [FCW, Dec. 17, 2007]. He/she hit the nail on the head. Even when management is well-intentioned, it can't seem to get out of its own way, and becomes its own worst enemy.
Where federal managers lack the skills and savvy, they should let the contractors lead, and execute flawless acquisition processes. (Many good ones abound, but are rarely implemented.)
