FCW Insider: Peter Rodman memorial set

A memorial service for the late Peter Rodman, who served in the administration of every Republican president since Richard Nixon, will be held Oct. 10.


Rodman, who had become a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution in March of 2007, died Aug. 2 of complications of leukemia. He was 64.


The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at the Fort Myer Officers' Club near the Pentagon. Anyone interested in attending should contact Elizabeth Bowen at ebowen@aei.org.


Rodman's federal career encompassed many roles. He served on the National Security Councils of Presidents Nixon, Ford, Reagan and George H.W. Bush. His last post before leaving government was as assistant secretary of defense for international security affairs, a post he held from 2001 to 2007.


He is survived by his wife, Veronique, and two children, Theodora and Nicholas.
