GSA may grant waivers for Networx deadline
The agency will enforce the Sept. 30 deadline for fair opportunity decisions, but will consider requests for more time on a case by case basis.
The General Services Administration could allow some agencies more time to make fair opportunity decisions under the Networx contract program. GSA wants agencies to complete the process by Sept. 30, but will consider requests for waivers on a case by case basis.
A GSA spokesman said agency officials announced their willingness to do so at a Sept. 12 meeting of the Interagency Management Council, which verbally approved of this decision.
Agencies that need to request a waiver of the deadline must send to GSA:
* The number of fair opportunity decisions they need to make and when they expect to complete them.
* If applicable, the number of statements of work they have for transition and when each will be submitted to GSA.
* An estimate of the date by which all transition orders will be submitted.
Fair opportunity is the process agencies use to determine which vendors they plan to use under the Networx program.
