Field began working at the Transportation Department in 1990 as an acquisition intern.In 2000, she went to the Office of Federal Procurement Policy on a detail assignment and was hired permanently soon thereafter. Field is an avid skier. She has skied throughout Europe and the United States. She most often skis in Park City, Utah.: Field’s father was a ski jumper.She comes from a family of public servants. Her father worked at the Government Accountability Office (then called the General Accounting Office), and her grandfather worked for the state of Massachusetts.
