Rapp named FCW editor-in-chief
Former Congressional Quarterly editor David Rapp will take the reins at 1105 Government Information Group.
David Rapp, former editor and senior vice president of Congressional
Quarterly, has been named editor-in-chief of Federal Computer Week and
editorial director at 1105 Government Information Group.
Rapp
will start work Dec. 29, said Anne Armstrong, president of 1105
Government Information Group. As editorial director, Rapp will
coordinate the various magazines and Web sites the company publishes.
Rapp
was CQ's top editorial executive from 1997 to 2006. During that period,
he oversaw the creation and development of the award-winning CQ.com
(www.cq.com). He also led the redesign and repositioning of CQ's
flagship print products — CQ Today and CQ Weekly. In addition, Rapp
helped develop and launch several electronic newsletters.
Rapp
left CQ in January 2007 after 22 years to start his own publishing
company. Later that year, he created TravelBeat.net, a collection of
travel blogs.
1105 Government Information Group also hired a new
marketing director, Stephanie Decker. She previously worked at The
Weekly Standard and Politico and will direct the efforts of a
three-person marketing team to promote the group’s media efforts in the
government marketplace.
