President-elect Obama will nominate Sen. Ken Salazar (D-Colo.) o be his Interior scretary, while Iowa governor Tom Vilsack has the nod to become secretary of Agriculture, according to a Washington Post article.
Both are considered centrists and come with considerable government experience. The Vilsack nomination was generally greeted with approval by observers. Salazar has come under criticism from some activists, but others believe he will be an honest broker in furthering Obama’s policies, the Post said.
