Regarding the Dec. 15, 2008, Federal Computer Week article titled "Editorial: Advocating for change":

Your 15 Dec FCW Forum, "Advocating for change" urged officials to prepare for change by using Government 2.0 initiatives to "tap into innovation at the grass-roots level, using social-networking technology...." An example of this is underway even now through the joint DOD/VA/DOL National Resource Directory that currently has over 12,000 partners coast-to-coast in its database of service and resource providers throughout the country who are committed to supporting wounded warriors and their families and families of the fallen. The NRD provides one consolidated location for the exchange of information among the private and non-profit sectors as well as local, state, and federal governments. Its "suggest a resource" link let's providers as well as customers easily share access to the support of America's heroes across the continuum of care from recovery, to rehabilitation to community reintegration. Its next phase, the National Care Coordination Network, will add social networking features that connect the "new generation of public servants" dedicated to helping our wounded service members and veterans move beyond survive to thrive.
