Towns names subcommittee leaders
Reps. Stephen Lynch and Diane Watson will oversee two subcommittees that influence federal management and procurement issues.
The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform named new leaders of two subcommittees, Reps. Stephen Lynch (D-Mass.) and Diane Watson (D-Calif.).
Chairman Edolphus Towns (D-N.Y.,) and ranking member Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), announced those appointments those of and ranking Republican members in news releases Feb. 4.
Lynch replaces Rep. Danny Davis (D-Ill.) as chairman of the Federal Workforce, Postal Service and the District of Columbia Subcommittee, according to a news release. Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) serves as ranking member.
Watson takes over as chairwoman of the Government Management, Organization and Procurement Subcommittee, and the new ranking member is Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.).
Democrats who chair subcommittees and ranking Republicans and those subcommittees are: Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio), Domestic Policy, with Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) as ranking member; Rep. William Clay (D-Mo.), Information Policy, Census and National Archives, with Rep Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.), as ranking member; and Rep. John Tierney (D-Mass.), National Security and Foreign Affairs, with Rep. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) as ranking member.
