Kolodner to retire from federal government
The national coordinator of health IT plans to retire once his successor, Dr. David Blumenthal, is ready to take over the office, Government Health IT reports.
Dr. Robert Kolodner, national coordinator of health IT, plans to retire from federal service after a 30-year career during which he led the effort to build a working foundation for national health information sharing, Government Health IT reports.
Kolodner said in an interview with GHIT that he would retire once his successor, Dr. David Blumenthal, is ready to take over the office. He will explore a range of opportunities for working in health IT after leaving government, he said.
