Avatar to aid DIA recruiting
DIA recruiters will use an upcoming public event to showcase technology that simulates security interviews.
Defense Intelligence Agency officials hope to attract potential recruits with technology demonstrations at an upcoming event on the National Mall.
DIA will have a booth at the Public Service Recognition Week 2009 event, which takes place May 7 to 10. Visitors can meet DIA experts and learn about the collection, analysis and distribution of intelligence. Recruiters will also be available to discuss employment opportunities.
DIA’s booth will feature simulation technology from the agency’s Defense Academy for Credibility Assessment. The avatar-based technology is part of an interactive computer program DIA is developing to simulate security interviews.
Organizers say more than 100 government offices, agencies, nonprofit organizations and private companies will participate in the event. This year’s theme is “Government Goes Green.”
