Federal 100: Jaye Helferd
As a vice president at technology company InterImage, Helferd led project teams that helped the Navy achieve paperless workflow for a prisoner management system. She also managed three governmentwide acquisition contracts. On top of this, Helferd volunteered to be the industry chairwoman of the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council's Partners Program, a collaboration between industry and government to develop the next generation of information technology leaders.
Helferd transformed the ACT/IAC Partners Program curriculum, creating an environment in which class members could tap into one another's expertise. She also encouraged participants to volunteer in the federal IT community.
"Jaye performed this role with her usual commitment to excellence and with a professionalism recognized by all involved," said John Teeter, deputy chief information officer of the Health and Human Services Department and the government chairman of ACT/IAC Partners.
