Federal 100: Jeffrey Levy
Jeffrey Levy
Director of Web Communication
Environmental Protection Agency
As Web 2.0 evangelist and innovator at EPA, Levy accepted the call to preach the gospel of social media as a teacher and trainer for agencies throughout the federal government.
He spearheaded EPA’s first social media policy and worked with attorneys and information technology experts to produce an effective constituent outreach tool. He is co-chairman of the Federal Web Managers Council's Social Media Subcouncil and a popular public speaker. Levy developed two webinars that he offers to the government community for free several times a year. His Twitter account is also a teaching tool and has more than 4,700 followers.
“Jeffrey leads by example,” said Beverly Godwin, director of USA.gov and government Web best practices at the General Services Administration. “He goes far beyond his day job to help other agencies learn.”
