Federal 100: Lt. Col. Anmy Torres
Torres leads the deployment of the DKO Web portal. Her work has brought new capabilities to DKO, including expanded storage and improved intrusion detection and firewalls.
She also helped expand DKO beyond its original Army Knowledge Online user base and boosted the number of interagency users from 5,735 in 2007 to 160,000-plus in 2009 by implementing a self-registration process for non-Army users. A plan Torres developed to migrate DKO operating sites to a Defense Enterprise Computing Center could save $45.3 million in fiscal 2010.
“Lt. Col. Torres has been tireless and dedicated in her furtherance of DKO,” said Dennis Wisnosky, chief architect and chief technical officer of the Business Mission Area at the Defense Department’s Office of the Deputy Chief Management Officer. “She truly understands the meaning of customer support.”
