Consumer Product Safety Commission bringing product reports to the Web
The Consumer Products Safety Commission today released a notice of proposed rule-making for a new online database.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission is moving forward on establishing a comprehensive database available online to the public that would provide searchable information on product safety reports.
The commission issued a notice of proposed rule-making today on carrying out terms of a 2008 law that requires the agency to create a public database of product safety information.
Currently, the commission maintains a database of consumer complaints, performs research on safety of products, collects information on product-related safety incidents, and publishes information about product recalls.
