Second Senate panel approves Lew to head OMB
The Senate Budget Committee has approved Jacob Lew's nomination to be director of the Office of Management and Budget.
The Senate Budget Committee on Thursday advanced Jacob Lew’s nomination to head the Office of Management and Budget.
The committee approved his nomination to be OMB director by 22 to 1. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) dissented.
“I found too many echoes of the failed policies of the past,” Sanders said. “It is my strong belief that President Obama needs an OMB director who is willing to stand up to corporate America and the wealthy, say enough is enough.”
