GSA's acquisition center reorganizing for new year

Among other changes, Ed O’Hare, assistant commissioner for Integrated Technology Services, is retiring January 15 and will be replaced by Mary Davie.

This winter will be a season of transitions for the Federal Acquisition Service, according to a staff memo emailed on Dec. 20th. The organization, which is the General Services Administration's primary acquisition arm, is reorganizing.

After a 38-year government career, Ed O’Hare, assistant commissioner for Integrated Technology Services, will retire. His last day will be January 15. Mary Davie, assistant commissioner of FAS’ Office of Assisted Acquisition Services (AAS), who “pioneered” the use of social media technology in the acquisition process, will take over O'Hare's role.

O’Hare’s “commitment and passion to creating innovative and customized acquisition solutions is well known,” wrote FAS Commissioner Steve Kempf in the email to staff.
