DISA transfer employees ready for expanded telework program
DISA beefs up its telework program as more than 4,700 employees get ready to move to the agency's new location in Ft. Meade, Md.
The beefed up Defense Information Systems Agency's telework program may be the key to retaining the more than 4,700 employees from Northern Virginia who will relocate to the agency's new Ft. Meade, Md. home this summer, about 32 miles away, according to Government Executive.
The agency created a telework SWAT team to ensure all new computers are telework compatible and introduced a telework center in Woodbridge Va. for people who need to work on a classified network, the article states.
Under the telework program, employees can increase teleworking from one day per pay period to up to three days per week if approved by a supervisor, and DISA will pay half of the teleworker's Internet bill.
