Retired feds rally for second tour of acquisition duty

The federal government rehired 125 retired federal employees in 2010 for its acquisition workforce, according to an Office of Federal Procurement Policy report.

To offset its shrinking acquisition workforce, the government rehired 125 retired federal employees, or annuitants, in 2010, a drop from 2009’s 140, reports Jason Miller on FederalNewsRadio.com.

The Army rehired the most annuitants with 44 in 2010, followed by the Air Force and Defense Department with 18 each. The Agriculture Department rehired 12 annuitants, the most of any civilian agency.
