Tips to be a more productive teleworker
As the number of federal employees who telework increases, here are some tips to follow to increase productivity when working remotely.
As the Base Realignment and Closure plan progresses, more than one in five federal employees plan to increase the amount of time they spend teleworking, reports Federal News Radio.
To stay connected, "establish roles and schedules with your teammates, whether they are contractors, supervisors or staff,” writes Howard Owen, business editor of the Fredericksburg (Va.) Free Lance-Star, in his latest blog entry titled “When Home is Your Office.”
He also suggests using the phone frequently, staying on an instant messaging client through the day, and making sure some conversations are not about work.
