Study: Work is not a place to go
Four questions IT leaders should be able to answer about equipping a mobile workforce.
Almost 70 percent of information workers in North America work remotely at least once a month and business leaders need to keep up with the pace by provisioning the mobile workforce properly, according to a new report.
Data collected by Forrester Research concludes that this situation will not only affect how people conduct their jobs but also business locations and office designs.
However, a one-size-fits-all approach won't work and the report's author, T.J. Keitt, writes that IT leaders need to be able to judge how to develop the corporate IT infrastructure, evaluate the devices IT should or shouldn't support, plan content and collaboration strategies to keep workers connected, and anticipate how facilities' costs will change.
