Men twice as likely to slash salary for more telework
A new survey indicates that 12 percent of men are willing to give up 10 percent of their salary in exchange for more telework, compared to 6 percent of women.
Working men (12 percent) are twice as likely as working women (6 percent) to give up more than 10 percent of their salary to telework more often, GigaOM reports.
Although several studies have confirmed that employees are willing to give up some cash in exchange for more flexibility in their careers, a recent survey by the Mom Corps website uncovered the gender disparity.
The jobs site asked 1,071 working Americans about telework and work/life balance. It found that 42 percent of workers would be willing to have their salaries slashed by 6 percent in exchange for more telework, the GigaOM article states.
