IJIS exec makes jump to private industry

IJIS Institute Executive Director Glenn Archer has resigned to pursue entrepreneurial endeavors in the private sector, according to an announcement.

The nonprofit organization, which works to enhance mission-critical information sharing in justice, public safety, and homeland security, announced Archer’s departure Jan. 24. His replacement is Steve Ambrosini, currently IJIS's director of operations. Ambrosini leads the institute’s Springboard Initiative.

Archer will continue to be “deeply committed” to advancing the institute’s vision, mission and values, according to the IJIS Institute statement.

His role within the organization has involved coordinating the Institute’s Emerging Technology Seminars series, National Forums, and technical assistance programs. He also spearheaded the development of the Information Sharing and Data Mining Technology series. More recently, Archer served on the executive committee as well as on the board of directors.

“Glenn’s dedication to the IJIS Institute goes well beyond his tenure as its executive director,” said Matthew D’Alessandro, president of the Institute. “He has dedicated himself to the institute’s mission for many years, and his departure will most certainly be felt by the board, staff and our members. I thank him for his efforts and wish him the best as he charts his future.”
