Report: USDA CIO to retire
Chris Smith plans to leave in three weeks, but where he's going remains a mystery.
Chris Smith, CIO at the Agriculture Department, has decided to retire, according to unnamed sources.
According to one source whose e-mail message was obtained by Federal Computer Week, Smith announced his departure internally on the morning of March 8.
According to a report at Federal News Radio, Smith plans to leave at the end of March, but his next position isn't yet known.
Smith became CIO in 2008 and won FCW's Federal 100 award in 2011 and 2012.
