Letter to the editor: Honoring the team

The Northern Virginia Technology Council is very proud of the Federal 100 award that our chairman, Brad Antle, received on behalf of NVTC’s Arlington National Cemetery initiative. However, your article about the award, while referencing NVTC’s work shepherding an industry team that comprised the NVTC Arlington National Cemetery Task Force, did not detail the task force leadership of Booz Allen Hamilton, Science Applications International Corp. and the Mitre Corp. nor the impact and breadth of the team.

The task force was a true example of the strength and effectiveness of a community/industry partnership as Northern Virginia companies joined together to offer their expertise on a pro bono basis for a project of national significance that touched the hearts of all Americans and paid honor to soldiers who have sacrificed so much for the nation. Although coordinated by NVTC, the actual technical work was conducted by Booz Allen Hamilton, SAIC and Mitre, with the assistance of a working group of 14 additional NVTC member companies/organizations.

I would like to once again thank those task force companies and organizations and share the honor of the Fed 100 award with them for their expertise, cooperation and leadership.
