GSA CFO takes on new detail
GSA brings over Treasury official to be acting chief financial officer.
Alison Doone, chief financial officer at the General Services Administration, accepted a six-month detail at the Partnership for Public Service, an agency spokesman said June 12.
She will be working on financial management and budget issues across the federal government with an emphasis on possible presidential transition work. She will also serve as a key advisor to the executive director of the partnership, said Adam Elkington, a GSA spokesman.
She began the detail June 4.
In Doone’s place, Gary Grippo will be acting CFO for GSA.
Grippo most recently was deputy assistant secretary for government financial policy at Treasury. He has 15 years of experience at the Treasury Department. There he has worked on major budget and fiscal policy issues.
There, he established Treasury policy on the lending and investment of federal agencies and government corporations. He oversaw the Federal Financing Bank, a government corporation with a $55 billion balance sheet of loans to private companies, foreign governments, and federal instrumentalities. He also managed a $23 billion affordable housing program for state and local non-profit housing finance agencies.
“Gary will play an important role in the work ahead as we work on the top-to-bottom review,” Elkington said. That review is intended to be a comprehensive examination of GSA's operations and spending.
