Issa probes telework travel reimbursements
GSA teleworkers billed $750,000 in travel expenses, raising questions in Congress.
How did employees who telework full time cost the government $750,000 in travel expenses? Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, is asking the General Services Administration to explain that, according to a report in NextGov.
E-mails from GSA's Public Buildings Service show that a total of 95 employees, including 12 supervisors, billed the agency for the travel from October 2010 to June 2011. The messages suggest that regional commissioners were alarmed at the expenses, NextGov reports.
