Former Obama cybersecurity head moves to private sector

Sameer Bhalotra, who resigned in January as senior director for cybersecurity for the Barack Obama administration, is about to announce that he is taking a position as chief operating officer at a firm called Impermium, the New York Times reports.

Times reporter Nicole Perlroth described Impermium as "a cybersecurity start-up based in Redwood City, Calif., that wants to clean up the social Web using so-called big data techniques."

In his White House job, Bhalotra "coordinated several of President Obama’s cybersecurity initiatives, including the White House’s National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace," she wrote.
