More VA spending goes under investigation
The House Veterans' Affairs Committee interest doesn't stop in Orlando.
The House Veterans’ Affairs Committee chairman opened investigations on Veterans Affairs Department’s recent conferences held in Las Vegas and in Arizona, NextGov reported Aug. 28.
Chairman Rep. Jeff Miller (R-Fla.) said his committee added the conferences to its list of other conferences under review. Those conferences were held in 2011 in Orlando and cost an estimated $5.3 million. Miller also said he plans to hold a hearing in September on conference spending.
Miller said the department has spent too much money on conferences.
