Agencies place high on list of appealing tech employers
Seventeen federal agencies made a list of the top 100 technology employers.
Despite the complicated process of applying for federal employment, many agencies are ranked among the best places to work in a recent survey.
In a look at the most attractive employers in America, 17 federal agencies made the top 100 list for IT. According to a survey of nearly 60,000 undergraduates and 6,000 MBA students by employer-branding firm Universum, the following agencies have real appeal for tech-focused job seekers:

- National Security Agency (#12)
- NASA (#13)
- CIA (#15)
- Defense Department (#20)
- State Department (#22)
- Energy Department (#30)
- Air Force (#31)
- Navy (#34)
- Environmental Protection Agency (#49)
- Treasury Department (#54)
- Army (#60)
- Peace Corps (#69)
- Nuclear Regulatory Commission (#91)
- National Institutes of Health (#95)
- Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (#97)
- Department of Veterans Affairs (#100)
Agencies also fared well in other categories: NASA was No. 1 among engineering employers, while NIH topped the natural science list.
