Deadline for Fed 100 is fast approaching

The deadline for this year's Federal 100 nominations is Dec. 23. Submissions so far are a great reminder of the talent found throughout the federal IT community, but there are still whole agencies that are as-yet-unrepresented.    

So if you know individuals whose talents, leadership and dedication are making federal IT better, please be sure they have the opportunity to get the recognition they deserve. Go to FCW.com/fed100, and get started today on your nominations.  

Not sure what it takes to make the Fed 100?  Here are four points to remember: 

1. Anyone in the federal IT community is eligible. Generally, that means agency employees and select members of the contracting sector, but past winners have included legislators, academics, independent watchdogs and even a journalist or two.
2. The award is for individual accomplishments in 2013. (Great teams were honored at the GCN Awards Gala on Nov. 19.)
3. Fed 100 winners go above and beyond -- whatever their level or rank. A fancy job title is not required, and just doing one's job well is not enough.
4. Impact matters.  The judges need to know not only what a nominee did, but also what all that work accomplished.
