OFPP administrator to leave

Office of Federal Procurement Policy Administrator Joe Jordan will step down in January, FCW has learned.

Jordan has accepted a position as president of public sector at FedBid, a privately held company that offers a reverse-auction marketplace in which companies compete for government business by bidding down their prices.

The Office of Management and Budget confirmed the move. Director Sylvia Mathews Burwell lauded Jordan as "a driving force behind administration procurement initiatives."

Jordan has served as OFPP administrator since May 2012 following Senate confirmation. He replaced Dan Gordon, who had held the position since 2009.

“With a diverse career over the last 20 years of significant public and private sector procurement, contracting, business process and solution-making successes, Jordan will be a natural fit to move FedBid’s public sector business forward,” FedBid CEO Ali Saadat said in a statement.
