USDA moves CIO to new post
Jonathan Alboum, the Department of Agriculture CIO, has been reassigned to new duties.
USDA CIO Jonathan Alboum is moving to a new job inside the agency.
The Department of Agriculture is in the process of moving its CIO over to its procurement operations and is looking for an acting CIO, agency officials confirmed to FCW.
The agency hasn't named an acting CIO. Jonathan Alboum will remain at USDA as senior procurement executive.
Alboum, who was appointed to the CIO post 2015, was named a 2017 Federal 100 winner for spearheading a major modernization push that involved consolidating the USDA’s IT networks from 17 to just three or four and boosting agency efficiency and security. He also pushed to shift the focus from individual components to the needs of the entire USDA IT community.
