She understood that the Army’s acquisition process does not fully capitalize on the private sector’s advancements in communications and networking, which hampers the Army’s ability to acquire new technologies for warfighters. She consolidated studies and research from various sources, including battlefield commanders, to identify equipment that could address gaps warfighters encountered during combat operations. Thanks to her efforts, the Army’s network modernization strategy is designed to ensure rapid insertion of new technology and will likely reduce costs in the long run.
