White House cyber czar office adds new deputy

Harry Wingo, a former national security professor and Navy SEAL officer, will take the position next week, the Office of the National Cyber Director said.
Former Google lawyer and cybersecurity professor Harry Wingo is joining the Office of the National Cyber Director next week, the White House announced Wednesday.
Wingo's public sector experience includes service as special counsel at the Federal Communications Commission, counsel to the Senate Commerce Committee and a stint as assistant professor at the National Defense University's College of Information and Cyberspace. Wingo is a graduate of the Naval Academy and served as a Navy Seal officer for more than six years.
"Harry’s lifetime of leadership will greatly contribute to our team’s mission to advance our Nation’s security, economic prosperity, and technological innovation through cybersecurity policy leadership," National Cyber Director Harry Coker said in a statement.
Wingo takes over the post formerly held by Jake Braun.
