The Bureau of the Public Debt awarded a contract Monday worth up to $7 million
for off-the-shelf financial software from Oracle Corp.
The browser-based system will be used to manage customer accounts and keep
track of reimburseable and appropriated funds for agencies, including the
Office of the Inspector General at the Department of Housing and Urban Development,
according to Tammie Johnson of BPD's contract office.
Oracle, which is expected to release its fourth-quarter earnings on Dec.
14, would not comment on the contract award. Under U.S. Securities and Exchange
Commission regulations, a public company cannot comment on any financial
