Accenture managers move up

Stephen Rohleder, chief executive of Accenture's government operating group, will become chief operating officer of the company Sept. 1, Accenture officials announced today. Rohleder will succeed Stephan James, who is retiring.

Martin Cole, the company's managing partner of outsourcing and infrastructure delivery, will follow Rohleder as head of the government group. And William Green, chief operating officer of client services, will take over as CEO, replacing Joe Forehand.

Forehand will remain on the board, while James will continue in an advisory capacity with the title of international chairman.

"Steve Rohleder and Marty Cole are two of the most accomplished executives in our company and in the industry, with proven track records as business builders and an intense focus on sales and client satisfaction," Green said in a written statement. "I am excited about the passion for our business that Steve and Marty will bring to my leadership team as we guide Accenture into our next phase of growth."

Rohleder has held leadership roles in the company's government division for five years, and became CEO in March 2003. During his tenure, the division has become the company's fastest-growing operating group, according to company officials.
