Calif. gets Unisys case management

Unisys officials recently announced that the company has been awarded a $3.4 million contract to provide a case management solution for California’s Department of Industrial Relations.

Unisys has partnered with Hansen Information Technologies on the four-year contract. Hansen will contribute its licensing, case management, cashiering and citizen relationship management software. Unisys will provide project management and consulting services in support of the software implementation.

The project also involves developing interfaces to existing systems at the federal Internal Revenue Service, state Franchise Tax Board and Superior Court.

A spokesman for Hansen said the California project marks the first successful teaming between the companies.

The companies will perform the work for the Department of Industrial Relations' Division of Labor Standards Enforcement. Unisys said the contract aims to streamline the business processes of the division’s Bureau of Field Enforcement, and the Wage Claim Adjudication, Licensing and Registration, and Legal units. The division investigates labor law violations and licenses businesses in certain industries.

A spokeswoman for Unisys said the company is working with Hansen to "expand our partnership to other California agencies and departments, as well as across the country. Unisys and Hansen have signed additional exclusive teaming agreements on our opportunities."

Based in Rancho Cordova, Calif., Hansen develops application software for automating government operations. Products include financial accounting, revenue management, operations management and business intelligence.
