USPS liking the Internet?

That is the headline for the story on the NYT front page this morning: Postal Service Finds a Friend in the Internet. We don't often hear that given that e-mail and e-bill paying is driving a drop in "snail" mail. But the NYT says sites like Amazon.com and eBay are bolstering the number of packages shipped via the Postal Service.
